St. Paul’s is following state and local directives, as well as that of the Desert Southwest Conference, in regards to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. All in-person church related activities, including those for Lent, Holy Week and Easter, have been cancelled. Please check our Coronavirus page for further updates.
Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday is February 26, with services at noon and 6 pm. Our Early Bird choir leads worship at noon, while the Sanctuary Singers are singing at the evening service.
First Week of Lent
Sunday March 1 is the first Sunday of Lent. Pastor Ken preaches on Matthew 4:1-11, “Temptations.” This is a Communion Sunday – all are welcome!
On Wednesday March 4 we begin a discussion on the book “Inspired: Slaying Giants, Walking on Water, and Loving the Bible Again” by Rachael Held Evans. It is facilitated by Meredith Joubert. Please go to this online form to register.
A women’s Bible study on “Living Love When We Disagree” begins on Thursday March 5, through April 16. The book is based on 1 Corinthians. Please go to this online form to register.
Second Week of Lent
Sunday, March 8, the second Sunday of Lent, Pastor Ken preaches on Psalm 121, “My Help Comes from the Lord.”
And on Friday March 13, all men are invited for a time of fellowship and eating delicious chili around a bonfire at the Joubert’s house, from 6 to 8 pm. Please go to this online form for registration and directions.
Third Week of Lent
Sunday, March 15 is the third Sunday of Lent. Pastor Ken preaches on Psalm 95:1-7, “How Big is God?.”
Fourth Week of Lent
Sunday, March 22 is the fourth Sunday of Lent. Pastor Ken preaches on the 23rd Psalm.
Fifth Week of Lent
Sunday March 29 is the fifth Sunday of Lent. Pastor Ken preaches on Psalm 130, “Waiting for the Lord.”
Holy Week
Holy Week begins Sunday April 5 with Palm Sunday. Pastor Ken preaches on Matthew 21:1-11, “Who Is This?”
With the precautions in place, and instead of Holy Week services, Pastor Ken will be doing a video message for each day of the week based on his book study, “8 Days of Glory: Reflections on Holy Week” by Leslie Woodson. Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday is April 12. Pastor Ken preaches on John 20:1-18, “Mary Magdalene’s Moment.” Our Sunday service will be at 9:30 am and will be live streamed on the St. Paul’s Facebook page and on YouTube.
