Blue and Red Make Purple: Better Together (Kindness)
Today we begin a five week sermon series based on Do Unto Others, a grassroots movement launched by Resurrection, a United Methodist Church in the Kansas City area. More than 99% of our DNA is the same from one human to another; this surely makes us kin. The word “kindness” originally developed from a root word that meant “family” or “with the feeling of relatives for each other.” We begin this series yearning to recognize our family connection as children of God, and we begin to dream of finding a “purple space” in which kindness is foundational. Rev. Ron Bartlow gives the sermon “Blue and Red Make Purple: Better Together” drawing from Luke 6:31-36 and Matthew 5:1-10.
