Vance Luke is selling Maasai and Kikuyu art and jewelry in Brummet Hall on Sunday, December 10 between services. Tourism, an important source of income for these tribes, is way down due to negative travel advisories. The purchase of these items is therefor greatly needed and appreciated.
Secondly, a big thank you to the folks of St. Paul’s UMC for sending all 52 graduates of Kijabe Preschool to the first grade with complete sets of uniforms. These uniforms are required for entrance into public grade school.
Third, the Jim Calfee Africa Project team is returning to Kijabe, Kenya In January 2024 to complete a number of projects including:
- Restoring the roof on the original classroom
- Placing electricity in all classrooms
- Installing a water conservation system
- A set of four apartments is also being completed to support the Maasai school. (Some of the goats you supplied played a part in funding this project.
This is only a small part of the many things the people of St. Paul’s have done to give the people of Kenya hope for the future. Vance would be happy to talk to any group or any person about the wonderful things that are happening in Kijabe.
