In the coming months, you’ll see a variety of opportunities shared by us inviting you to join others from St. Paul’s UMC to go into the community. So far, we have planned these activities:
Tucson Meet Yourself This “folklife festival” is an annual celebration of the living traditional arts of Southern Arizona’s and Northern Mexico’s diverse ethnic and folk communities. Founded in 1974 by Jim and Loma Griffith, the free event features hundreds of artisans, home cooks, dancers, musicians and special exhibits. The festival runs Friday through Sunday, October 17 – 19; we will likely attend as a group on Saturday. For more information about the festival, please visit their website.
The Willcox Wine Country Fall Festival We’ve chartered a bus to leave after worship on Sunday morning, October 19! We invite you to reserve your space on the bus now if you are interested, and invite your friends who might find this an unusual but welcome “church” trip! For more information about the festival, including purchasing tastings, visit the festival event site. *Update*: we have been given the opportunity to purchase discounted wine tasting tickets. Here are the details:

Trunk or Treat This year St. Paul’s is helping Bloom Elementary school with their Trunk-or-Treat! The school’s event is Friday, October 31 beginning at 9:00 am. Candy and/or toys can be donated to the church office, Heather Stein’s office, or in the lobby on Sunday mornings. If you’d like to hand out candy (with or without decorating a table) please email Heather to reserve your spot!
Winterhaven Christmas Lights Join with church friends new and old to experience the annual tradition of Winterhaven’s lights.
We hope you’ll consider joining us for one or more of these events. You don’t have to feel any pressure to talk about or invite others to church, though you can choose to wear a church branded T- or Polo Shirt (we’re in the process of designing some, and hope to make them available soon). We’re called by Jesus to “go and do likewise,” to go and actively “be a neighbor” (as many say). So watch for these and other opportunities to go out into our community and connect with others.
