If you are in a position of leadership at St. Paul’s UMC, or simply wish to grow as a leader, we encourage you to join us for our special leadership retreat the morning of Saturday, November 8, beginning at 9:00 am and wrapping by 2:00 pm.

We will start our morning with Andy Stanley, who will guide us to consider the “Five Disciplines of an Outward-Facing Church.”  Next, we’ll hear from Dan Heath, author most recently of “Reset: How To Change What’s Not Working,”  who will provide an introduction to a two-step process for leading change. During  our third portion of the day we will break into subgroups, depending on our area of  interest, to either: (1) further reflect on Heath’s encouragement to “let the people drive,” as Kaye Monk-Morgan, CEO of Kansas Leadership Center, talks us through what happens “When the Faith Community Leads,” giving guidance to how our congregation is an organization of shared leadership, or (2) further reflect on Stanley’s advice to focus upon invitation and welcoming as leaders from Church of the Resurrection teach on “The Art of Hospitality.”

In addition to the learnings from these authors/leaders, we will spend time in small groups discussing, brainstorming, and generating ideas on how we can more effectively lead the people and ministries of St. Paul’s UMC toward fulfilling our vision, mission, and values. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided! Please RSVP.
