Christmas just isn’t complete without Advent activities, caroling, and church services. With that in mind, we have a variety of options for you for this Advent and Christmas season.
Advent Activities
Join us in Brummet Hall for Advent activities, coffee, and goodies beginning Sunday, December 4 and going through Sunday, December 24. Invite your family and friends to join us during this Advent season to enjoy a time of fellowship. On December 3, join in making a special holiday treat, while on December 10, make a fun Christmas ornament.
Christmas Caroling
Join us on Sunday afternoon, December 17 pm. We will walk across the street together to Fellowship Square and sing Christmas carols to their residents. Meet at 3:45 pm in front of the Billy and Ann Still Life Center or meet us at 4:00 pm in front of the gate for Villa IV at 250 N. Maguire Ave. If you are a resident of Fellowship Square, come down to the grassy area of Villa IV at 4:00 pm and join us in caroling!
Longest Night Service, 6:30 pm
On the Longest Night of the year, we offer a service of light for remembrance and comfort. Recognizing that loss takes many forms, and many of us experience darkness that makes the typical Advent and Christmas celebrations difficult, we will gather in a special service of community, healing and hope. Join us in the A-Frame on Friday, December 22, at 6:30 pm.
Fourth Sunday of Advent Service, 9 am
We will have a contemporary Sunday service celebrating the Fourth Sunday of Advent.
Traditional Christmas Eve Service, 11 am
Join us for a daytime traditional Christmas Eve service featuring Early Bird Choir, Harmony Men’s Quartet, and ending with Silent Night by candlelight.
Christmas Eve Soup Lunch, Noon
Following the 11:00 am service, come to the Billy and Ann Still Life Center for a lunch of hot soup and bread.
Contemporary Christmas Eve Service, 5 pm
Join us and Christ Church United Methodist (CCUM) for a contemporary, maybe even boisterous, celebration of Christmas Eve for people of all ages. Grace Multiplied will lead us in festive music and Revs. Beth Rambikur from CCUM, Meredith Joubert, and Ron Bartlow will share the Christmas story in a variety of ways.
Traditional Christmas Eve Service, 9 pm
Join us for a late-night intimate, authentic Christmas Eve experience with the Sanctuary Singers. Pull up a chair by the fireplace and hear what Christmas means to us.
New Years Eve Service, 9 am
Join us for a combined service to close out the year led by Rev. Meredith Joubert and the Early Bird Choir.
