Family Tree(s) at St. Paul’s

Christmas blue tree and black sky

This Advent season, we invite you and your family – or a combination of families, or a collection of friends – to loan and decorate a tree in our Sanctuary for the Advent Season. We will have family Christmas trees lined up along the east and west walls of the sanctuary (and perhaps a few elsewhere depending on response!). Decorate them with your chosen ornaments and decorations, and include some 3×5 cards telling stories about the ornaments or about your Christmas traditions.

This is a fun way to share about ourselves and build community! Already we have been told there will be a “KC Chiefs” tree and a “Christmas Cookie” tree, among others!

And this will be a way to collect non-perishable and canned food items for our food bank. Each week, members of our community can “vote” for their favorite tree by donating items underneath them. We will keep track of the number of items and their weight and give bragging rights – and maybe a prize? – to the hosts of the most favored trees at the end of the season!

If you are interested, please sign up below. We will set out spaces 6 feet square for each tree to be set up in. Then join us the morning of Saturday, November 21 (between 9am and 12noon) or Monday evening, November 23 (between 5PM and 8PM), bringing your tree and decorates to set up and bless our community!
