Jesus, Martin, and the Marginalized
Today, we continue our worship series “Telling the Truth”. We live in a world that misleads us. From rage bait headlines to social media algorithms, we are presented with facades intended to engage us in a pervasive culture that draws us deeper into deceptions for someone else’s gain. As we start the new year, we’re going to risk telling the truth in church – lamenting, protesting, and complaining about what is wrong, yes, but doing so with hope that God has an alternative for us to pursue together. God’s desire is a greater good for us all. Let’s face the falsehoods around us, and seek to hear God’s alternative. Rev. Ron Bartlow continues the series by remembering Martin Luther King Jr. and the day set aside to remember what he worked for. Racism is wrong, but yet it is still all around us. We continue to challenge racism in all its forms. Rev. Ron’s sermon is “Jesus, Martin, and the Marginalized” with scriptures from Amos 5:21-24 and Galatians 3:26-29.
