We are excited to welcome all our 6th-12th grade students to join our shared youth ministry with St. Paul’s UMC, Christ Church United Methodist, and Desert Skies UMC! We can’t wait to reconnect, make new friends, and build a supportive community where everyone feels a true sense of belonging. We usually meet Sunday afternoons from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm – locations may vary.
Today we are planning a short hike/walk to Sabino Canyon after Confirmation Class. The hike will be led by Phil Bentley, a local expert and volunteer guide. We will meet at 3:50 pm at St. Paul’s and travel to the Sabino Canyon Visitor Center (about 20 minute drive). Parents are welcome to drop off (by 4:10 pm) and pick up (5:20 pm) at the Sabino Canyon parking lot if any youth live closer to Sabino Canyon.
This will be an easy, educational hike with time to enjoy nature and learn from Phil’s unique perspective. He is very knowledgeable about the area, especially Sabino Canyon, and will help us decide on the best trail based on the group’s interests and energy.
We plan to leave the Sabino Canyon parking lot by 5:20 pm and return to St. Paul’s so everyone is ready to head home by 5:40 pm. Please wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes, and bring water. You won’t want to miss this experience!
