The Dis-membered, Remembered
Today is the sixth Sunday of Easter. Jesus remembered the broken thief into holy paradise. Following the United Methodist Church’s General Conference 2024, there may be a sense of the brokenness of our denomination, or there may be a renewed sense of hope and unity. Either way, we recognize that the Church is not as whole or holy as it should be. We too are broken. But in the breaking of the bread we remember Christ, and we re-member the body of Christ, re-uniting through the mystery of God’s sacrament. Rev. Ron Bartlow gives today’s sermon, “The Dis-membered, Remembered”, from Luke 22:14-23 and 23:32-43.
