David: Ducking Spears, Dancing Madly
Today, Rev. Ron Bartlow continues our series on “Life Lessons from Biblical Figures.” David’s early story teaches us not to lash out, and to worship with abandon. When David as the Israelite King welcomed the Ark of God into Jerusalem, he danced with all his might before the Lord. He wasn’t worried about appearances or holding back – his heart overflowed with gratitude and joy for God’s presence among the people. The sermon today, “David: Ducking Spears, Dancing Madly,” is from the stories of David as told in 1 and 2 Samuel, including 1 Samuel 19:1-10a and 2 Samuel 6:1-5, 14-22.
